Originally posted Thursday June 26, 2008 01:50 PM EDT Garth Brooks has a new career: Mr. Mom. While on CBS`s Early Show Thursday to promote her new album, Heaven, Heartache and the Power of Love, Brooks`s wife, Trisha Yearwood, addressed Brooks`s latest endeavor. "He`s a great dad, you know. He loves his girls and he realizes that it`s important to be there every day," said Yearwood, 43, referring to the 46-year-old Brooks`s children from his first marriage: Taylor, 15; August, 14; and Allie, 11. "And so that`s what he`s doing, and I`m proud of him for it." Twice-divorced Yearwood wed Brooks in 2005, and said that the title of her 10th album refers to the journeys people take in their personal lives. "It`s about kind of going through the fire and the good stuff and you end up in a place where you accept all the parts of your life [and] things that happen to you," she said. Looking back, the singer (who has partnered with Coldwater Creek to raise money for Susan G. Komen for the Cure) said she is happy with her own journey. "It`s kind of like if it ends up this way, I`m good with everything I went through to get here, `cause life is good."
