BBC Tributes Rock Piano Legend Nicky Hopkins

(London, England) The BBC airs "Diamond and Tiaras...The Nicky Hopkins Story," a tribute to the legendary rock and roll pianist. September 6 marks the 14 year anniversary of Hopkins` untimely death in Nashville as a result of surgery complications.

Bob Harris recalls the life and extraordinary career of the session pianist. Nicky Hopkins played on more than 500 albums, 14 of them by The Rolling Stones. Other beneficiaries include The Beatles, Dusty Springfield, David Bowie, The Kinks, Rod Stewart and Joe Cocker. Contributions from Joe Cocker, Bill Wyman and Ian McLagan are expected, as well as Hopkins` widow, Moira.
