Playing a wounded Iraq war vet and recovering drug addict on ABC`s critically acclaimed Brothers and Sisters, Dave Annable may seem like a one-man strife machine. But in reality, this 28-year-old is hardly a tortured soul. Superfriendly and seemingly unaware of his good looks, Dave is somewhat of a Hollywood anomaly. He’s tight with his family, and his best friend — aside from his English bulldog, Buster — is still a buddy from college. Now this is a guy you can bring home to Mom.

“I actually just took my first surfing lesson a couple of weeks ago and had the time of my life. I’ve always been scared of sharks in a little-girl way.”

WHAT ARE SOME WORDS YOU’D NEVER WANT TO HEAR COME OUT OF A WOMAN’S MOUTH?
“‘We need to talk’ is a good one. Or ‘Where is this going?’ That’s always scary.”

HOW DO YOU APPROACH A CHICK WHO INTERESTS YOU?
“You know, I’ve never been the type of guy who is confident enough to go up and kick game. I think my game comes from not having game — you know, when you sort of make fun of yourself the whole time, that sort of self-deprecating humor.”

WE CAME ACROSS TWO FUNNY VIDEO CLIPS, ONE WHERE YOU’RE KISSING A DOLPHIN AND ONE WHERE YOU’RE SMOOCHING THE STANLEY CUP. WHAT GIVES?
“The word’s out — I’m a kisser! The Stanley Cup thing was funny. I may have gotten a little frisky with it. I feel like I should have bought it flowers or taken it out to dinner. But I’ve played hockey all my life, and so when the Stanley Cup was brought to the [Brothers and Sisters] set, it was really pretty rad. And the dolphin...who doesn’t want to kiss a dolphin, right? You have to try it once.”
