Mini Mercedes: Hollyoaks star Jennifer Metcalfe thinner than ever after summer love split

 Hollyoaks actress Jennifer Metcalfe shocked fans at the Inside soaps Award last night with her super-skinny frame.The brunette beauty, who plays feisty maneater Mercedes McQueen in the popular teen soap, has been steadily losing weight over the summer. Dressed in a tiny, floral mini-dress with a belt that emphasised her tiny waist, the 25-year-old looked incredibly thin posing on the red carpet in Camden, north London.Metcalfe - who joined the Channel 4 show in 2006 - had looked slender but altogether healthier at at the British Soap Awards in May. She is said to have lost the weight over the summer following her split from Liverpool footballer Jermaine Pennant. A friend said: `Jen lost her confidence with Jermaine, and since the split she has lost quite a lot of weight.` The couple first started dating last November, but have since split up several times. Earlier this month, Metcalfe said she was giving the sportsman another try after he won her back with a romantic gesture. She said: `He asked me out and when he picked me up in the car he was playing a CD he’d made of all the songs that meant something to us,` Jennifer, 25, says. `He took me to a gorgeous house which he’d filled with flowers and tea lights. He’d got a butler and a chef and champagne… `He won me back and now we’re having a fantastic time together. I’m really happy. Hollyoaks came away with one award - Best Young Actor for eight-year-old Ellis Hollins, who plays Tom Cunningham.
