Singer Jennifer Hudson triumphs at Super Bowl after tragedy

 TAMPA, Florida (AFP) – Singer Jennifer Hudson made a triumphant return to the stage, belting out the US national anthem at the Super Bowl football game two months after the murders of her nephew, brother and mother.Hudson`s brother and mother were found shot dead in the family`s Chicago home in October. Her young nephew`s bullet-riddled body was found in an abandoned car three days later. The singer`s brother-in-law William Balfour has been charged in the crimes. The murders shocked the country, and prompted an outpouring of public support and sympathy for the popular Oscar-winning actress and singer. Hudson, whose star turn in "Dreamgirls" earned her an Academy Award for best supporting actress in 2007, was in Florida promoting her latest movie, "The Secret Life of Bees," when she learned of the slayings. The 27-year-old star had been riding high with her new film and hit single from her recently-released debut album when the tragedy upended her life. Now out of seclusion, Hudson is slowly resuming her performing schedule, including a planned February 8 singing appearance at the Grammy Awards, where she has four nominations.
