Nikki Gil and Billy Crawford ready to admit romance

 Sunday, February 15, 2009WHILE it’s true that Nikki Gil and Billy Crawford are close these days, the witty host-actress doesn’t want to admit that they’re indeed playing beautiful music together. “Honestly, I don’t want to talk about it if possible although I can’t keep people from asking since Billy and me are public properties. I don’t want to be accused of using the issue just to stir publicity. All I can say is that, when Billy was once asked regarding the true status of our relationship, his reply was, ‘We’re getting there.’ When I was asked the same question after his statement, I said, ‘We’re almost there.’ I think it’s his turn now to answer again,” Nikki avers with a smile. Many would like to know what characteristics of Billy has endeared him to her. “Number one is his being very down-to-earth in spite of his enviable stature. Considering his accomplishments in the international music scene, he didn’t forget his roots and remained low-keyed. Surprisingly, he’s still very Filipino deep within him. He’s also understanding and thoughtful.” Just recently, they starred in an episode of the Sunday program, Your Song. They shared stellar billing with the tandem of Rachelle Ann Go and Gab Valenciano. Was there any awkward feeling on the set since Gab is her ex while Rachelle is his present girlfriend? “Oh, there was none. I guess we were all professionals and treated everything as work. I’m friend with both Gab and Rachelle Ann. Actually, my friendship with her dates back from the time when she and Gab aren’t a couple yet. With Gab, it’s good we maintained the friendship after calling it quits then. “Actually, what we had during that time could just be considered as puppy love. We were together for only five months so there wasn’t much of an emotional investment. Yes, I also got hurt with our split up but we knew then that we weren’t prepared yet to be in a serious relationship,” reveals Nikki.
