Game show news: Pyramid, Let's Make A Deal, and ... GSN Radio?

Filed under: Industry, Programming, Game Show, Reality-Free I've been a strong believer in bringing game shows back to daytime television. If soap operas continue to die, I certainly want to see game shows in there instead of another daytime talk show about nuns who cheat on their transvestite cousins. When it was announced that Guiding Light wouldn't be coming back, it was rumored that game shows might be taking its place on the CBS lineup. Now it looks like that's true.BuzzerBlog is reporting that new versions of both Pyramid and Let's Make A Deal are in the running for the slot, and that an order for the show(s) went out today. We could either see both shows (30 minutes for each show) or a one-hour version of Let's Make A Deal. There's a casting call for Pyramid on Craigslist. In other game show news, Bob Goen and Marianne Curan are hosting something called GSN Radio every Monday through Friday from 1PM to 5PM. I haven't heard it yet but it could be something worth checking out if you're a game show fanatic. Permalink | Email this | | Comments
