Dayanara Torres: Ex `Will Always Be a Dear Friend`

 Just a day after announcing her breakup from boyfriend Amaury Nolasco, Dayanara Torres tells PEOPLE she and the Prison Break actor are trying to remain friends. "Absolutely, he will always be a dear friend, I love him to death," Torres told PEOPLE at a Hot Moms Club launch party in West Hollywood, to benefit the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition. "I support him, he`s always supported me. Because we broke up, it doesn`t mean that somebody did anything bad to anybody. We just decided mutually that it didn`t work out, but we are friendly, and will always be," added Torres, 33. Nolasco, 37, and Torres were already longtime friends, as she attended his Mr. 3000 Hollywood movie premiere in 2004. Torres – who has two children with Marc Anthony, Christian, 7, and Ryan, 4, – says for now it`s all about juggling parenthood, dating, and her career. She`s also choosy about introducing suitors to her kids. "Only because I respect them," Torres explains. "I`ve got to be very careful. I can`t just introduce them to anybody and not know him. Only when I think the relationship is going somewhere and getting serious, it`s when I start introducing, which happened only once." Torres and Anthony married in May 2000, but separated two years later. As for working and dating as a single mom, "It`s not easy, but I`m just trying to balance it as much as I can," Torres says. "Nothing is worth more than taking the quality time you have with your kids. I`m very careful of the projects I choose, to make sure that I don`t take away [anyone`s time]. It`s difficult trying to balance it all, but I`m doing it."
