Bob Armstrong, a friend of the family but no relation, had a slight oriental look to him so in order to make himself look as much like Tojo as possible, and I may say that unless you had a photo of Bob made up as Tojo and a photo of Tojo himself, only then could you tell the difference, Bob wore a set of false teeth to give his lower jaw the same look as Tojo`s. However, when he said his lines they were totally incomprehensible, so Bob had to go back to the studio, stand in a little booth and loop his lines. Bob was asked to play Charlie Chan but he said no. I wish he had. I think hewould have been very good.
