Trivia and QuotesTrivia The film was unreleased until 1996 because The Rolling Stones were dissatisfied with their performance. This is Brian Jones`s last live performance with The Rolling Stones (he was kicked out of the band within a month after the show was filmed and died a few months after that). For a fortnight in 1968, future Black Sabbath founder Tony Iommi briefly joined Jethro Tull as lead guitarist. This was his only public appearance with the band, but the performance was mimed - he never played live with Jethro Tull. Originally recorded as a Christmas television special to promote The Rolling Stones` album "Beggar`s Banquet". Originally, The Rolling Stones and The Who were going to stage a tour in which the bands would perform in circus tents. However, after that idea fell through, it was decided to stage the television special instead. Another act that was booked to appear on the special was Traffic, featuring Stevie Winwood. | ||
