Not to start some sort of battle here D , but to clarify, John was asked by the family to play at MJ`s funeral...and John said himself he wanted it to be soley about the music and not be focused on him, thus why he didn`t sing... :)

Oh one more thing the performance at MJ funeral made me sick as he will do anything to get attention. It`s embarrasing! Am I the only one that gets this? Praise God for john mayer! I`ve loved him since I was 12. He got me interested in a lot of the music I listen to now and i`m so thankful for that. And he`s definitely not a douche. People take things he does WAY too seriously.

John Clayton Mayer (MAY-ər; born October 16, 1977) is an American pop rock and blues rock musician, singer-songwriter, recording artist, and music producer. Born in Bridgeport, Connecticut, and raised in Fairfield, he attended Berklee College of Music in Boston. He moved to Atlanta in 1997, where he refined his skills and gained a following, and he now lives in Montana. His first two studio albums, Room for Squares and Heavier Things, did well commercially, achieving multi-platinum status. In 2003, he won a Grammy Award for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance for "Your Body Is a Wonderland."
