In response to Debbie, no one said she wasn't attractive or pretty w/o makeup,however his first wife Pattie was more beautiful, period. Just a fact, not jealousy. She is also a very kind woman that never loved Eric for his money. People can change. I have met Melia and she is naturally pretty even without makeup. Her children are well behaved and she seems to be a good mom. What more could Eric want? It sounds as if some of the posters here are jealous or have another agenda.

Well, Eric lies to himself so there you have it. You are right Patti, Pattie Boyd was the best thing that ever happened to Eric. However, his addictive personality destroyed his life. Addicted to sex, alcohol, drugs, money, and lets face it, when you have money you can take everything for granted. Like I said, my friend is a beautiful, smart and kind person that he just used in addition to being rude and basically an A-hole. Guess she wasn't young enough for him! She is 8 years younger than he is. Guess she missed it by 20 years!! LOL! He's a perv.

Eric Clapton wanted Patte Boyd so much that he wrote a whole rock opera for her called "Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs" AND betrayed his supposed best friend who just happened to be George Harrison. He came between Pattie and George and created nothing but havoc in their lives, all for his own selfish desires. He stopped at nothing and then when he got her, he cheated, lied, deserted, and betrayd her until she could not take it anymore. She left him and did not take a penny of his money and later on, would not even lend her $40,000.00 to buy a cottage. The only reason that he is with the person that he is with now is because he could NEVER get anyone as gorgeous and classy as the beautiful Pattie Boyd. Hope he chokes on his viagra.....what a rat....a serial lier and cheater. Ahole......

well the story behind them meeting etc is sketchy.The aging Clapton certainly would never had been with a woman like Melia in his past. She isn't anything special or striking in any way. When you can no longer get really good looking women you go for young the next best thing for a guy with an ego like Erics. He went after a friend of mine in the early 90's. She is a very sweet and beautiful person inside & out and he did not treat her well. Just used her. It's not surprising that his relationship is functioning at a dysfunctual level! He's a mess. What young woman would get involved with a guy that old! Rock star or not there's no way Melia would be married to him if he wasn't famous. He is a player and as they say, a leopard never changes his spots!His songwriting has been the worst ever since he hooked up with Melia. he can only rehash his past career for so long w/ previous songs etc. When will he be inspired to write

Eric Clapton met Melia McEnry in Columbus, Ohio, in 1998. Apparently, Melia, who did go backstage to concerts prior to meeting Clapton, was at his show that night, but actually made his acquaintance at the afterparty given for him, where she was a guest. They are still married and had their last child together in 2008. In an interview Clapton gave after the birth of his third daughter with Melia, he quipped that he could not afford any more children. He has a good sense of humor.

That Melia is a big woman! I'll bet that she comes in handy at the Clapton household for moving pieces of furniture and doing the heavy work. They sure breed them large in Ohio. I wonder where Eric Clapton's taste went when he married good old Melia. Younger or not, the woman is a great big nothing lookwise. Oh, well, different strokes for different folks.

You have to hand it to Eric Clapton. He's not into beauty anymore, and he got into the big girls too. No one can accuse his wife Melia of being tiny. The woman has calves like a linebacker. I doubt she had any difficulties in birthing her children either. Her hips are impressive in size. By all accounts Eric Clapton refers to his wife as a good helpmeet who knows how to obey her husband. That must be true, because he sure did not pick Melia McEnry for her looks, either that or Eric Clapton needs to get an eye exam.

Looky! Eric Clapton got himself a slave. The fool has bragged in articles that Melia has dedicated her entire life to him. Wow. They sure must have an equal and modern relationship. The nut also said that his former girlfriends were "flaky" because they wanted to pursue some of thier own interests rather than focus on him 100 percent. Can you spell ego? Melia is simply a young geisha that Clapton hooked up with when he realized that no self-respecting woman would throw herself upon his mercy and live and breathe for him. And Melia did not meet Clapton in Los Angeles. She met him at a party in Columbus, Ohio that was given for Clapton after a live performance there. Melia was a groupie who got herself invited to the party by a friend. And he met her in 98, not 99. He kept her under wraps for over one year before going public with her. Maybe he had a probationary period put into place to ensure that she would act properly servile before announcing her.

England???? Hummm?! That explains why you might have been lucky enough to catch him doing free, unannounced, impromptu, solo accoustic concerts in very small venues like Hoggy's bar in Delaware, Ohio (just north of Columbus). He must have flown all the way home (from England) just to do the above mentioned "free" appearance. They had to close the doors once word got out, and people were still lined up around the block. FACT. I say congratulations to both, and may you have a long and happy life together. And yes..,...some of you do in fact need to get lives of your own.

The Columbus story is false. Eric, Melia and their daughters make their home in Surrey, England. They do have a home in Columbus but their main residence is in Surrey. My husband`s family lives in that area too.

Common knowledge = gossip. It`s nonsense. They are a family and they live together. They have made Columbus their home base when Eric is on tour. I suppose to some busybodies it may appear as if he is visiting when in reality he is working. People should really mind their own business.

Well one would think two teenagers so obviously in LOVE would at least live together...yet it`s common knowledge throughout Columbus that Eric is nothing more than a VISITOR here and only occasionally has Melia and the girls join him at his UK home or on the road when he`s touring.

After not having `gotten` anything I worked so hard for during h.school and college (due to severe depression, anxiety, and psychiatric malpractice), this is just a sore subject for me:(( This was a stroke of pure luck for Melia. Why wouldn`t Clapton be interested in an aspiring classical pianist - even though that `dream` was cut off as well, when I couldn`t `hear` music while taking unneccessarily Rx-ed antipsychotics:(? Got to take out the resentment somewhere other than Facebook:(

oh, I got it. He loves Melia`s athletic calves:) Reportedly he took one look at her and said (these were his approx. words): She was clearly capable of being anyone`s partner. Damn her, working for Armani, she could afford to eat all the superfoods in the world! And now she`s with Clapton. We share the same birth years. I often wonder if she understands a whit about music, or has any musical talent? I`m just a jealous girl.

The couple met in 1999, allegedly after McEnery approached the guitar genius for an autograph. At the time he was a rock legend visiting Tinseltown to work on an album with B.B. King, and she -- less than half his age -- was a graphic artist from Ohio trying her luck in Los Angeles. Clapton, leader of rock groups Cream, The Yardbirds, and Derek and the Dominoes, was never as lucky in love as he was on the charts. He had been married to Pattie Boyd for nine years, a model he had stolen from his best friend at the time, Beatle George Harrison, and for whom he wrote the songs "Layla" and "Wonderful Tonight." He then had two children, Ruth Kelly (born 1985) and Connor (born 1986), with two different girlfriends. After a year-long courtship with McEnery, the couple broke up, and then reunited shortly before she became pregnant.
Their Nuptials: The unlikely duo surprised guests who thought they were simply attending the 2002 New Year`s Day baptism of their six-month-old love child, Julie Rose. The ceremonies took place at the 15th-century Chapel of St. Mary Magdalene in Ridley, England, where the guitarist was raised. Clapton`s son, Conor, who died after falling from a window in New York apartment 10 years prior, is buried near the chapel. After the baptism, Clapton and McEnery were called forward by the vicar and exchanged vows.
