I`ve been all over the inet and can`t find out if Paul davis was ever married, had any family, etc...just curious. Also, was he a Christian?

Paul Davis was one of the good guys. There was a simple clarity and honesty in his lyrics, and a soft, heartfelt delivery. He enjoyed fishing and living off his royalties. Paul was an unabashed Southerner and Christian, whose personality came through in his songs. "I Go Crazy" stayed on the charts a record number of weeks, like 9 or 10 months, which had blown away the previous record holder for a single on the charts.

OMG! And in Meridian of all places---AND at the same exact hospital where I was a student RN and met Mrs. Melia PEVEY for the first time as one of my patients! I also happened to be a DJ there for about 10 years and met Paul many times, have pics with him and he was always my fav ---always remembered me and I just LOVED him. As a matter of fact, not only did I have a near death heart attack April 8th of this year but had been trying to get in touch with him or Paul Overstreet for about a month! WOW! Iam so sick over his death and shocked. What a gifted, phenomenal person....what a dear friend and I just don`t know what else to say...I will be forevered saddened and have so much left to say to Paul... God bless and I know he is at peace doing what he loves best...writing those "Superstar" songs b/c that`s what he is! Much love, SBY1...formerly Meridian MS, now Knoxville, TN.

Biography
Paul Lavon Davis (April 21, 1948 April 22, 2008) was an American singer and songwriter, best known for his radio hits and solo career which started worldwide in 1970. His career encompassed soul, country and pop music. Notable songs in his career include 1977's "I Go Crazy", a #7 pop hit which once held the record for the longest chart run on the Billboard Hot 100, as well as the #6 "'65 Love Affair", his highest-charting pop hit. In the mid 1980s, he also had two country #1 hits as a guest vocalist on songs by Marie Osmond and Tanya Tucker, and wrote singles for other country singers.
