George Andrew "Andy" McCluskey (born 24 June 1959, Heswall, Wirral, England) is an English musician and songwriter. The frontman of Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark (OMD) and founder of Atomic Kitten, McCluskey is an Ivor Novello Award-nominated songwriter who penned several major international hits for both acts. His influence on 1980s popular culture was highlighted by the BBC's Stuart Maconie, who christened McCluskey's distinctive on-stage routine as the "Trainee Teacher Dance", adding, "McCluskey's jerky, leg-snapping dance became the dance-floor routine of choice for all trainee teachers." McCluskey has been described by Ned Raggett of AllMusic as an artist "who clearly could balance artistic and commercial impulses in a winning fashion." He continues recording and performing with OMD to the present day.
