Joseph Schmidt (March 4, 1904 November 16, 1942) was a Jewish Romanian tenor and actor. He was born in Davideny (Ukrainian: Davydivka), a small town in the Bukovina province of Austria-Hungary, later Romania and now part of Ukraine.
