Biography

Sue began her career in England where she was born. As a teenager she traveled and performed Shakespeare with the Knightsbridge Theater Company of Leicestershire. In her late teens she began a successful stint working in the Fashion Industry in Tokyo Japan for 5 years eventually residing in San Francisco California where she studied acting and graduated from The American Conservatory Theater.

Sue performed in numerous Theater productions along the West Coast and New York and made a name for herself with a diverse mix of film roles including the Mother of James in “James and The Giant Peach” and punk rock Treena in “Just Add Love” as well as the highly successful CD Rom game series “Soviet Strike” and “Nuclear Strike” playing spy Andrea Grey which sold over a million units. More recently she played Patricia Martin on the hit show “The Shield” directed by Frank Darabont and Miss Shilling on General Hospital

Sue’s writing and directorial debut began in 1999 with “Through Riley’s Eyes” a 30 minute short which she also co-stars in, inspired by the story of her friend Richard Burdell a jazz trumpet player and his struggle with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease). The film released in 2000-screened worldwide and won numerous awards and critical acclaim. www.throughrileyseyes.com

She then directed and produced a music video for The Robert Cray Band- track “No One Special” for worldwide distribution. This earned her a Platinum Award at The Houston Film Festival and a Spirit Award at Moon Dance in Colorado. Simultaneously she studied at Film School to hone her craft and while doing so filmed “Before It’s Too Late” and “Fallen Tears” with both films screening at The Los Angeles City College finalist program and in New York at The Film Festival of Cinema and Technology.

Most recently she directed the Music Video “ Twenty” which has won 7 awards as best Music Video in film festivals around the World. Sue is currently working on the screenplay “Manchester Girl” based on her hit One Woman Show she wrote, performed and co-directed, earning her a LA Weekly Award Nomination for her performance and A Fringe First Award at the Edinburgh Festival 2004 for most outstanding new stage writing. Sue is pursuing funding to direct it as her feature debut. www.manchestergirl.com
