Arthur "Dooley" Wilson (April 3, 1886 – May 30, 1953) was an American actor, singer and musician who is best remembered as Sam in the 1942 film, Casablanca; in the film, he also performed its theme song, "As Time Goes By".

Isn`t it sad that a truly great performance that lives on in everone`s memory - who can forget his rendition of As Time Goes By in Casablanca -is overshawdowed by the racism that permeated Hollywood. It has always been customary for blacks to have a stand-out role, then never be heard from again. How sad. Teach
