Dayle Hinman (born September 21, 1952) is a retired, FBI-trained criminal profiler. She starred in a television series on TruTV (earlier known as CourtTV). The program, Body of Evidence: From the case files of Dayle Hinman, documented some of the cases she worked while a Special Agent at the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), as well as some other cases. "Body of Evidence" (which should not be confused with the TV crime drama Body of Proof), was a documentary-style show with interviews, re-enactments and an off-camera narrator. Each episode included scenes of Hinman discussing the case in question, as well as scenes of her playing herself in re-enactments.

I enjoy watching 'From the Case Files of Dayle Hinman,' and have a strange question. At the beginning of the show, several images are shown sequentially. One is what appears to be an older photograph of a little girl. Is that Dayle? ... and WHY is it there?

Mrs. Hinman, I am a young man that will soon be entering college to major in psychology. My dream has been two fold: to become a criminal profile and to become a published author. I was hoping I could get any information you could give on what it takes to become and to be a criminal profile in general. Also, the novel I'm currently trying to write deals with a criminal element of abduction and I wanted to bring in an element of profile and avoid sounding like I had no idea what I was saying.
