Olivia Grant (born 20 September 1983)[1] is an English actress. Her first film role was in Stardust (2007), in which she was cast within weeks of graduating from Oxford.[2] She is known for portraying Lady Adelaide Midwinter in Lark Rise to Candleford and Grace Darling in Personal Affairs.

She is currently filming on the BBC1 Series Garrow's Law as Lady Henrietta Armistead, opposite Rupert Graves.

Born in London,[1] Grant is the daughter of Irene Whilton, a costume designer, and Kenneth Grant, a district judge.[2]

Grant originally trained to be a ballet dancer, becoming a Junior Associate with the Royal Ballet.[3] She later studied at Guildhall School of Music and Drama, planning to become a professional opera singer.[3]

After attending St Paul's Girls' School in Hammersmith, London [3] Grant read English Literature at Brasenose College, Oxford, where she became involved with the Oxford University Dramatic Society.

She currently lives in Chelsea[2] and writes a weekly blog for InStyle magazine (http://blogs.instyle.co.uk/).

Grant made her first screen appearance in an episode of Brush Strokes at the age of three.[2]

She appeared in the Paramount film Stardust, directed by Matthew Vaughn, and opposite Claire Danes and Michelle Pfeiffer. Grant's other film credits include Fishtales and the Howard Marks biopic Mr. Nice, opposite Rhys Ifans.

She played the lead role of Grace Darling in BBC Three drama Personal Affairs, and appeared as Lady Adelaide Midwinter in the first and third series of BBC period drama Lark Rise to Candleford.

She was cast in ITV's Poirot as Annabel Larkin opposite David Suchet, and in the BBC's Women in Love, opposite Rory Kinnear and Rosamund Pike, as Lady Hermione Roddice. She played the lead of Sophia in the Restoration drama The Picture by Philip Massinger at the Playhouse in Salisbury, Wiltshire in October 2010.
