Carl you are a wonderful,bright person i had a opportunity to race against you in the 80"s at university of washington. Carl, I regret to inform you that your Poppy , the dog you gave us in Cannon Beach, before you left for South Chicago 10 years ago, died on Feb. 9th, 2009. Frederick Carlton "Carl" Lewis (born July 1, 1961) is an American former track and field athlete and United Nations Goodwill Ambassador, who won 10 Olympic medals including 9 gold, and 10 World Championships medals, including 8 gold. His career spanned from 1979 when he first achieved a world ranking to 1996 when he last won an Olympic title and subsequently retired. Lewis became an actor and has appeared in a number of films.
