High school [edit]

He attended Joseph Wheeler High School, where his team won back-to-back state titles. He posted career highs of 34 points, 15 rebounds, and 14 blocks, as well as setting school records for total rebounds and blocks.

College [edit]

Davidson averaged nearly a double-double per game in his senior year at the University of Alabama.[1] After his junior year, Davidson tested the waters of the NBA Draft. However, he pulled his name out of the draft and decided to return to college for his senior year.

During his senior year, Davidson experienced much sorrow when his girlfriend and fellow student at Alabama Nicole Murphy died in a car accident on November 12, 2006.[2] Davidson and Murphy were driving to an Atlanta hospital to visit Davidson's brother, Dewayne Watkins, who had suffered critical injuries from a gunshot.[3] Murphy, who was driving the vehicle, lost control of the car and was ejected in the ensuing crash. She died the following morning.[3] Davidson suffered no serious injuries in the accident.

Davidson went through even more personal tragedy when his brother, Dewayne Watkins, died of his critical injuries suffered on December 20, 2006.[3] The news came shortly after the Crimson Tide's win over NC State.

Professional [edit]

Davidson was selected by the Golden State Warriors with the 36th pick of the 2007 NBA Draft. However, he was traded the same day as part of a deal that sent him and Jason Richardson from the Warriors to the Charlotte Bobcats in exchange for Brandan Wright, whom the Bobcats had selected with the eighth pick in the draft.

Davidson was named to the NBA 2007 Summer League All-Pro Second Team along with teammate Jared Dudley.

On July 26, 2007, Davidson was signed to a two-year deal by the Charlotte Bobcats.[4]

On October 27, 2008, he was released by the Bobcats.[5]

On January 5, 2009, he was signed to a 10-day contract with the Golden State Warriors.[6] DeMarcus Nelson was waived to make room for Davidson. Prior to the signing, Davidson was with the NBA Developmental League's Idaho Stampede, with whom he was averaging 16.1 points and 10.8 rebounds in 15 games.

On January 15, he was signed to a second 10-day contract[7] and on January 25, he was signed for the rest of the season.[8]

On June 30, the Warriors announced that he would play for their 2009 NBA Summer League team in Las Vegas[9]

After putting up disappointing numbers in the 2009 NBA Summer League, the Warriors waived Davidson on July 27, 2009.

He signed a contract with the Turkish Basketball League team Darüşşafaka Cooper Tires on October 1, 2009 and lead the Turkish league in rebounding that season averaging 15.9 points and 10.7 rebounds.

On May 16, 2010, he signed a contract in Puerto Rico with Caciques de Humacao from the Baloncesto Superior Nacional (BSN) league.[10]

In August 2011 he signed a one-year deal with Skyliners Frankfurt in Germany.[11]

In 2012, Davidson joined Antalya Büyükşehir Belediyesi in Turkey.[12]
