Biography
Lisa Wilkinson (born 19 December 1959 in Sydney, New South Wales) is an Australian journalist and television personality, and currently a co-host of the Nine Network`s breakfast television program Today, along with Karl Stefanovic.
Wilkinson began her career at a young age, working for Dolly Magazine. At age 21, she became the youngest ever editor of the magazine. After four years and almost tripling circulation,[citation needed] she was then appointed Editor of Cleo Magazine and went on to become International Editor-in-Chief.
Her television career began in the late 1990s when she was a regular panelist on Network Ten and Foxtel`s Beauty and the Beast. During the 2000 Summer Olympics, she (along with Duncan Armstrong) co-hosted The Morning Shift on the Seven Network. In 2005, she began hosting Weekend Sunrise.
On 10 May 2007 it was confirmed that Wilkinson was to co-anchor Today on the Nine Network after Jessica Rowe left the network. Her last appearance on Weekend Sunrise was 6 May 2007, and she began hearing on Today on 28 May 2007.
Wilkinson is a former student of Campbelltown High School (now Campbelltown High School of the Performing Arts). She married media personality Peter FitzSimons in September 1992 and has three young children, Jake, Louis and Billi. She is the cousin of Australian actor Tim Campbell. at the age of 49 she ranks next to Sharon stone as the hotties of that generation. Rumours abound about a Zoo or FHM men magazine style shoot. Having said that she is extremely intelligent and comes across as a great person, helping her to be one, if not the best news presenter on Australian television.
