George Clifton James (born May 29, 1921) is an American actor. He is probably best known for his role as the bumbling Sheriff J.W. Pepper alongside Roger Moore in the James Bond films Live and Let Die (1973) and The Man With The Golden Gun (1974) and his role alongside Sean Connery in The Untouchables (1987). He also played the role of the Sheriff Oliver Chauncey in the thriller-action-comedy film Silver Streak (film)
