I listened to the Staples singers all the way throught my high school years and college. when I had no friends, they had a song that would lift my spirits up. I guess the SStaple grew me up and I love them for it. I always wanted to meet the group. but I was never lucky enough. Keep on singing and I will always support you by buying your music.

Mavis Staples (born July 10, 1939 in Chicago, Illinois) is an American rhythm and blues and gospel singer, actress and civil rights activist who recorded with The Staple Singers, her family's band.
