Steve Cochran and I go way back when I was a teenager. I wrote him fan letters and he answered with his REAL signature on them. He was iconic in the movie The Damned Don`t Cry with Joan Crawford and Il Grido. Does anyone know how I can acquire his latest film Come Next Spring? Thanks.

Steve was greatly underrated as an actor. Martin Scorcese has commented on two of his films --caling IL Grido a masterpiece and praising Steve`s performance. He sited Come Next Spring as an example of an excellent family film made on a modest budget.Steve, wh directed stage shows for the military during WW2. In 1956, he formed his own production company Robert Alexander Prod. and produced Il Grido in Italy. In 1965, just months before his death, he cowrote, directed and produced Tell Me In The Sunlight. The film was ready for release, when he died, on his boat, under bizarre circumstances. merle Oberon, his former lover and costar. asked the police to investigate hinting at foul play. The coroner determined death by natural causes. Steve is buried in Monterey, near the ocean he loved so dearlmr

Mr. Cochran is a wonderful, powerful actor. Not only can he play gangsters an other bad guys flawlessly but he can also play sensitive characters. It`s a shame more people don`t know about this genius. I`m happy that he has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He more than deserves it. It`s a shame he never won an Oscar for one of his many brilliant performances. Mr. cochran dies waaay too young. He was only 48 years old. He still had his whole life ahead of him. Mr. Cochran is a perfect gentleman. Rest in peace Mr. Cochran. God rest your soul. I love you dearly. You are my hero, my idol and my rolemodel.
