Biography
Jesus Huerta de Soto Ballester ( Madrid , 1956 ) is professor of political economy at the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos in Madrid. He has earned two doctorates: in law, in 1984, and in Business and Economics in 1992, both from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. He has also been a student of Stanford University where he graduated MBA. Huerta de Soto, also belongs to the Ludwig von Mises Institute, the Foundation Board of the Madrid Institute for Advanced Studies ( IMDEA ) Social Sciences, the Mont Pelerin Society, the editorial board of the Quarterly Journal of Austrian Economics and the Society for the Study of Human Action. It also works closely with the Juan de Mariana Institute in Madrid. In 2009 the University Francisco Marroquin awarded Soto an honorary doctorate.
