Biography
Michael Walchhofer (born 28 April 1975, in Radstadt) is a former Austrian alpine ski racer. He started his career in slalom, but then moved over to the speed events. During his career he won the downhill world cup three times, one silver medal at Olympics Games, and one gold, two silver and one bronze medal at World Ski Championships. He became the first skier to win the Bormio Downhill three times with his victory on December 29, 2010. His last race was the downhill event in Lenzerheide on March 16, 2011.
