Agneepath(Hindi: अग्निपथ;English:The Path of Fire) is a 1990 Bollywood crime film directed by Mukul Anand. It stars Amitabh Bachchan, Mithun Chakraborty, Madhavi, Neelam Kothari, Alok Nath and Rohini Hattangadi, with Danny Denzongpa as the villain. It was produced by Yash Johar. The title was taken from a poem of the same name called 'Agneepath' which was penned by Harivansh Rai Bachchan, Amitabh's father, and which is recited at the beginning of the movie and creates a thematic link that continues through the movie, particularly in the climax, both literally and metaphorically. Although a huge flop at the box office, Bachchan and Chakraborty received the National Award for Best Actor and Filmfare Best Supporting Actor Award respectively for their performances is now considered a cult. The film got remade of the same name starring Hrithik Roshan and Priyanka Chopra.
