I was amazed at this film and the talent that Mr. Spacey showed as the wonderful Bobby Darin. I also doubted that Kate Bosworth would be able to emote as Sandra Dee but I was wrong. This was a great movie. I don`t know why I had not seen it before. I want to know if Kevin Spacey actually sang or if it was Bobby`s soundtrack. If he did sing, I would have to compare this performance to Sissy Spacek`s performance as Loretta Lynn for which she won the biggie. Please let me know if he did sing. I did not even know he could dance. He was unbelievable!

Beyond the Sea is a 2004 biographical film based on the life of singer/actor Bobby Darin. Kevin Spacey, who stars in the lead role and used his own singing voice for the musical numbers, co-wrote, directed, and co-produced the film, which takes its title from the Darin song of the same name. Beyond the Sea depicts Darin's rise to teen idol success in both the music and film industry during the 1950s and 60s, as well as his marriage to Sandra Dee, portrayed by Kate Bosworth.
