Jesús Alejandro Montero Lopez (born November 28, 1989) is a Venezuelan professional baseball catcher and designated hitter for the Seattle Mariners of Major League Baseball. He was originally signed by the New York Yankees before being traded to the Mariners. At the time of his signing, the Yankees projected him as a possible future replacement for Jorge Posada. There were, however, doubts about whether his height and weight were conducive to being an everyday catcher.
