Kyon Ki (Hindi: , Urdu: , translation: "Because") is a 2005 Bollywood film directed by Priyadarshan and starring Salman Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Rimi Sen, Jackie Shroff, Om Puri and Sunil Shetty. The film is a remake of the 1986 Malayalam film Thalavattam (written by Priyadarshan himself) which in turn was an uncredited adaptation of the 1969 Bollywood film Khamoshi written by Ashutosh Mukherjee. The film also draws inspiration from the Hollywood classic One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.
