Dave Brown, known as "Brownie", is a soul, RnB and funk disc jockey who started his broadcasting career in the early 1980s for BBC Radio Medway (which later became BBC Radio Kent) presenting the Mid-Morning Talk & Music Show 9 -11am Monday to Friday, with an audience bigger than Radio 1 in its transmission area. During this period he earned a reputation for having one of the most listened to Soul Shows in the UK on Friday nights across the South East of the UK. Playing soul sounds including Donald Byrd, Patrice Rushen, George Duke, Teddy Pendergrass Aretha Franklin and many more.
