Biography
Sloane Stephens (born March 20, 1993) is an American professional tennis player who as of February 18, 2013 is ranked world no. 16 by the Women's Tennis Association (WTA), which is also her career's highest ranking. Stephens has yet to make a WTA Tour singles final, having reached four semifinals, though the highlight of her career thus far has been a semifinal appearance at the 2013 Australian Open, and scoring a famous victory over Serena Williams in the quarter-finals. She is considered an emerging star for women's tennis.
