The Piano Lesson is a play written by the American playwright, August Wilson in 1990. A part of Wilson’s a series of ten African American plays, The Piano Lesson numbers fifth. Wilson began writing this play by playing with the various answers regarding the possibility of “acquira sense of self-worth by denying ones past” .The Piano Lesson has earned many awards including the 1990 Pulitzer.
