Jake Gyllenhaal has been on a string of dates with Minka Kelly.
The 31-year-old actor - who initially pursued the 'Friday Night Lights' star late last year - persuaded the actress to go out with him after she split from Wilmer Valderrama even though she initially wasn't interested in him.
A source said: "Minka wasn't into Jake when he first pursued her.
"[After she split from Wilmer] she decided to give Jake another chance."
However, despite going out numerous times, the relationship failed to develop.
The source added to Us Weekly magazine: "It was never serious, and it's over now."
