Abigail Anne Davis Spanberger (SPAN-bur-gər; née Davis; born August 7, 1979) is an American politician and former intelligence officer who served as the U.S. representative for Virginia's 7th congressional district from 2019 to 2025. A member of the Democratic Party, she is the Democratic nominee for governor in the 2025 Virginia gubernatorial election, facing incumbent lieutenant governor and Republican nominee Winsome Earle-Sears. If elected, Spanberger will become the first woman to serve as governor of Virginia.
