Akila Viraj Kariyawasam is a Sri Lankan politician and a member of the Parliament of Sri Lanka (Sinhala: අකිල විරාජ් කාරියවසම්,Tamil: அகில விராஜ் காரியவசம்; born 23 May 1973). He served as the Minister of Education of Sri Lanka from 13 January 2015 to 21 November 2019. He is a lawyer by profession and was first elected to the 13th Parliament of Sri Lanka in 2004.
