Ákos Birtalan (2 June 1962 – 24 August 2011) was a Romanian economist and politician. A member of the Democratic Union of Hungarians in Romania (UDMR), he was elected to the Chamber of Deputies in the legislative elections of 1992, and reelected in 1996 and 2000 (representing Covasna County). In 1996–1998, Birtalan was Minister of Tourism in Victor Ciorbea's cabinet (formed around the Romanian Democratic Convention, CDR).
