Alan McKenna won the Irish Intermediate 8+ Rowing Championships in 2007. To further his rowing career he trialled for the Irish Under 23 world Championships in Brandenburg, Germany. Alan has also raced the Holland Beker Regatta where he finished in third place in the light weight U23 four. His plans for the 2009 season are trials for Senior World Championships, Holland Beker Regatta and Henley Royal Regatta as Senior Lightweight along with Irish National Championships. He has the record for spending the longest time in Blackrock College-15 academic years. He lives in Blackrock.
