Ali Sulayman al-Assad (Arabic: علي سليمان الأسد) (1875 – 1963), born Ali Sulayman al-Wahhish Arabic: علي سليمان الوحش), was a leader of the Alawites in Latakia. He was the father of former Syrian President Hafez al-Assad, and grandfather of current Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
