Anthony Edward Sowell (August 19, 1959 - February 8, 2021) was an American serial killer, rapist, and necrophile known as the Cleveland Strangler. He was arrested in October 2009 after the bodies of 11 women were discovered by police investigators at his home, 12205 Imperial Avenue, in the Mount Pleasant neighborhood of Cleveland, Ohio.
