Details
Arne Deforce studied the cello and chamber music at the Conservatoires of Brussels and Ghent, specialising in contemporary classical music. His musical background comprises principally the historical avant-garde of the 20th century. His interest in contemporary and experimental music far exceeds conventional interpretation, and includes live electronics as well as improvisations in multimedia contexts. He has worked with and commissioned artists from a great diversity of aesthetic fields, from Champ d'Action, Serge Verstockt and Luc Brewaeys via Jonathan Harvey, Richard Barrett, Helmut Lachenmann, Wolfgang Rihm, Alvin Curran and Phill Niblock, to Peter Jacquemyn, Visual Kitchen, Pansonic and Mika Vaino.
