Général d’Armée Assimi Goïta (born 9 November 1983) is a Malian military officer who has been the sixth president of Mali, holding the title since July 2025. He had previously served in this role in an interim basis from 2021 until his accession to the presidency. He has also been the president of the Confederation of Sahel States since 2024, and previously served as the interim vice president under Interim President Bah Ndaw from 2020 to 2021.
