When Athalia reached her 30s, she had been engaged several times, but hadn’t found the right partner. So, she moved back down to Jacksonville to stay with her parents. Here, she met real estate agent Charles Bloom. The two quickly got engaged and married. They were together for the next 15 years until Athalia sought a divorce. By all accounts, Athalia was an incredibly independent woman, and it seemed that being a housewife wasn’t the path she wanted.
