They met on the island of Alonisos, Greece when Caroline was 16 and he was 14 years older. The got married as soon as she turned 18 on a beach in Portugal. He isolated her from her family, got her pregnant immediately to a child she misscaried and right after that she got pregnant again with their daughter Lydia.
On May 11th of 2021, Babis chocked Caroline to death and hung their dog in order to stage a "robbery/assault" turn bad. After killing his wife, Babis placed baby Lydia next to her mother's body and tied himself before calling the police.
