Bill Saffo is the Mayor of Wilmington, North Carolina. He was appointed mayor in 2006 and reelected in 2007, 2009, 2011, 2013, 2015, 2017, and 2019. In the 2019 municipal elections Saffo faced his first competent challenger for office in Devon Scott, who garnered 48% of the vote. He is the longest-serving mayor in the city's history.
