Brian R Jeffares is an elected member of Taranaki Regional Council, and was Mayor of Stratford, New Zealand, from 1998 to 2007. Jeffares has a background in building and real estate, and also some radio work. Jeffares and his wife Diann have three children. As well as his position as Mayor, Jeffares is chairman of the Taranaki Electricity Trust, a trustee on the Taranaki Rescue Helicopter Trust, chair of the Stratford Health Trust, and a member of the previous Hospital Advisory Committee.
