"THEN I lost Ayrton when he died in a crash in 1994 and everything seemed to be falling apart. I was married but this was a man I really loved.
I had met him in 1990 at a fashion show. This guy asked if I'd have my picture taken with Ayrton Senna. I asked him what he did and he said he was a driver.
The moment I laid eyes on him, I felt total attraction. He asked me to dinner and though I would have never normally accepted, I said "yes".
Afterwards my agent told me: "We're in the wrong business. That little guy make pounds 10 million a year." I had no idea he was a Formula One driver. So I said: "What does he do - own a limo company?"
It was the beginning of a very long, tumultuous relationship that came to a stop on May 1, 1994. My best friend called me and asked if I was watching TV. The race in which he had died had just been shown live. That was the end of the world for me.
Our relationship had not been public so I could not share what I went through. Afterwards, people were writing about our affair as if I were confessing to something.
They tried to make it into something dark and terrible but it just boiled down the fact that I loved this man. End of story."
