(19 October 1949 - 5 March 1976) (his death) 1 Child Daniel Lederer (Son)
Anne found great happiness with her third husband, Charles D. Lederer, a screenwriter who frequently wrote in collaboration with his friend Ben Hecht. The couple married on October 19, 1949 and welcomed the birth of their son Daniel at the end of August 1950. They maintained two homes, a mansion in Beverly Hills and a beach home in Malibu. Throughout the 1950s and 1960s they threw lavish parties, with their annual New Year’s event being regarded as legendary and definitely the place to be. When Charles died in 1976, Anne’s life fell apart, and she developed a drinking problem. In the process of curing herself, she cared for victims of alcohol abuse, working through Alcoholics Anonymous. Her children also helped her through this difficult time.
