Danielle Miraglia is an American blues guitarist and singer-songwriter based in Boston who has attracted attention at the 2009 North East Regional Folk Alliance competition. Miraglia (pronounced murr-Ä L e a) performs generally in the northeast region of the United States although she is scheduled to perform in Atlanta and North Carolina in autumn 2010. Miraglia grew up in the Revere, Massachusetts. She opened for Arlo Guthrie's daughter Sarah Lee Guthrie in 2009, and for Pure Prairie League in 2010 at the Chatham Sanctuary Concerts. She plays using a Gibson guitar, accompanied sometimes by harmonica. One Internet reviewer described as voice as whiskey tinged, and wrote that she has a sharp wit. She began playing at the now-defunct Kendall Cafe in Cambridge across from Boston around 2000. Scott Sheldon, the booker and concert chair of Chatham's Sanctuary Concerts, heard Miraglia perform in 2009 at the NERFA Formal Showcase Selections and commented that she impressed judges, including himself. Sheldon described her as a "blues belter" when announcing her performance in 2010.
